'Mulishani Bonse?' How are you, everyone? To which I hope you’d respond… ‘Bwino sana!’ Very well!
Despite living in Zambia for more than 10 years on and off, and picking up bits of Bemba along the way, we’ve never had proper lessons - mainly because we haven’t been able to find the right teacher before. However, Tim now thinks, hopefully not prematurely, that he may be on the right track. He’s only had one lesson so far and it's not easy, but he's trying to practice as much as possible and even attempting to memorise Bible verses! It's going 'Panono Panono' (slowly slowly / bit by bit) but it's definitely worthwhile as so much of the culture is revealed in the language. For example, while there is no direct word for 'please' in the Bemba language, which has led some visitors in the past to think badly of Zambian culture, when you begin to look at all the different greetings there are in Bemba and the fact that SO many of the words used in every day conversation are laden with respect, you start to see it's a different story. - We live and, hopefully, we learn!
Meanwhile, the various projects at Beulah are continuing well. The staff team are all still running regularly to raise funds for a family house we can live in onsite as well as to put up the 2 permanent tents we’ve been given. Don’t forget to watch the short video we made: https://youtu.be/T53CrSHL3r8?si=IjD5bGgXS-Fb5gYc and, if you can, donate 🙏🏻

A lot of Tim's time recently has been spent making flyers like this one👆🏼to bring in the support Beulah need for its various ministries. Obviously, there's accommodation, but also projects like the Beulah truck being about to enter its second phase of transformation so we can take more of our discipleship resources to underprivileged and remote villages. Imagine being able to take a whole climbing wall with us into the bush! And to have our own staging and projector ready to deliver gospel talks and discipleship videos - it will be amazing! Then there’s a chicken project we’re looking at starting to help local farmers supply their workers with food each month - hopefully both meeting a need and generating some extra income too. All these projects take time, effort, and funding to make a reality but with the end goal of helping people find life and hope in Christ, we know it's all worth it!

Phase 1 - Changing this 👆🏼into this👇🏼

As always, our thanks for standing with us, and lots of love to you all x
