After Outreach…

Could our future house be built here??👆🏻

As our 11 week 'lecture phase' studying discipleship, mission and a variety of related topics comes to an end, we are not only thinking as a family of 'outreach' which starts first thing tomorrow morning but also the question - 'What happens after that??'

When we get back in November, we'll just have a week to debrief before this year's DTS program is finished and we move out of our tented chalet. We'll initially be moving to a rented house that's about 20ish minutes away (and in some senses even more remote) but how long we'll stay there is uncertain.

We've really started to feel at home here at the Beulah Discipleship Centre and really want to be back here to staff the various courses that will be running as soon as possible. - To be able to encourage and impact young people's lives for Jesus is such an amazing privilege and to be able to live onsite with them rather than constantly coming and going makes such a difference. Even in the last few weeks as many volunteer staff from this years DTS have had to return home and we've had to think about moving away from the base as well (even temporarily) it's been quite emotionally draining. It seems as a family, and from the perspective of the Beulah Centre, that the sooner we can build house for us as a family on site, the better.

Hannah, of course, having made great friends with one of the girls on-site has been very keen to start raising funds to build a house here. (Can you spot her friend's house in the background?👆🏻)

She's spent the last 3 days doing odd jobs for people, making things to sell (mostly out of loom bands) and even planning a concert for the students to enjoy (at a cost) while on outreach. She's been doing very well but we're definitely going to need to set up a 'Go Fund Me' page or something to top up her funds to the £35-40K we'll actually need to build a house! (It's basically £25-30K for the house plus £5-10K for a solar system as Beulah is completely off-grid). More details to follow later.

At times Hannah has had the students almost fighting each other to buy her latest creations!

We'll do our best to update you as we go on outreach (which is now actually today, as the internet went down yesterday before I could get this online!) but please do be praying for us - for our house situation and all the ministry we'll be doing in the next 8 weeks - it's looking hectic but hopefully it will be really fruitful! With love from us all. Tim, Gemma, Abigail and Hannah x
